£50million worth of mortgages facilitated by Q
A leading Shropshire financial services company has arranged £50million of mortgages in just one year, its latest figures show.
Q Mortgage and Protection – part of Q Financial Services – says it helped secure at least one mortgage every day of the year over the last 12 months as the property market across Shropshire and the West Midlands continued to grow.
Simon Farenden, senior mortgage and protection adviser, said his team had also helped nearly 100 first time buyers get onto the property ladder – and been inundated with delighted feedback.
Simon said Q – which has offices in Wellington and Shrewsbury – had seen demand for mortgages continue to grow over the 12 months from November 2020 as would-be buyers looked to take advantage of low interest rates and the Government’s Stamp Duty holiday.
He revealed that in the 12 months to the start of November Q had:
- Arranged mortgages with an aggregated value of £49,800,000
- Arranged 379 mortgages in total
- Helped 93 first time buyers buy their first property
“It has been our busiest year to date in terms of the volume of work and we have been delighted to help so many people arrange mortgages which are suited to their individual circumstances.
“Because we are not tied to one bank or building society, we can search the market for the best deals for each of our customers and often help them find solutions which they did not think would be possible.
“We are particularly pleased to have helped so many first-time buyers get onto the property ladder and look forward to this trend continuing over the next 12 months.
“Interest rates remain at historically low levels and there is still a considerable amount of buoyancy in the market, but clearly the impact of the pandemic is still working its way through the system.
