World-leading aviation specialist Aviramp has been named among the fastest growing companies in the UK.

The award-winning family company – the global leader in the manufacture of step-free aircraft boarding ramps – is included in a new list of the top 150 growth firms compiled by the Financial Times and its partner Statista.

The FT says Telford-based Aviramp enjoyed absolute growth of 173.3 per cent between 2022 and 2025, compound growth of nearly 40 per cent over the same period and saw its revenue nearly triple to more than £9.2million.

Aviramp chief executive Graham Corfield said the recognition reflected years of innovation and investment since he founded the business in 2009.

“Being named among the UK’s fastest‑growing companies is a tremendous achievement for the whole Aviramp team.

“Our growth has been nothing short of remarkable – particularly given how severely the pandemic impacted global aviation. We used that period to innovate in developing solar-powered ramps and that has proved to have been hugely successful.

“We now have more than 950 Aviramp ramps in operation in over 40 countries being used by some 50 million passengers a year.

“Every one of those ramps is helping airports board passengers more safely, more efficiently and with far greater dignity. That impact – on operators and on passengers with reduced mobility – is something we’re incredibly proud of.”

Sales have soared 68 per cent since 2022, with £6.3million overseas sales last year. Aviramp’s success has been driven not only by its patented step‑free boarding ramps but also by its expanding portfolio of specialist products.

The company’s latest innovation – the ChairLifter, a solar‑powered hydraulic lift designed to safely load electric mobility aids onto aircraft – is already attracting significant interest from airports and airlines worldwide.

Graham added: “The ChairLifter solves the problem of loading heavy electric mobility aids safely, quickly and without damage. Early feedback from operators has been outstanding, and we expect it to become a core part of airport operations globally. It’s another example of how Aviramp is helping the industry move forward.

“Our order book is extremely healthy and we expect the next three years to be even stronger. None of this would be possible without the dedication and ingenuity of our team, who continue to push boundaries and set new standards for the industry.”

The FT rankings place Aviramp 102 out of the 150 fastest-growing companies and the only one from Shropshire to make the list.

Four other West Midlands firms – Grain & Frame, BSN Group, Knights Pharmacy and Moasure – also make the list.

Aviramp’s boarding ramps and bridges are used when an aircraft is parked on a remote stand and offer a safe and dignified alternative to stairs. They help operators speed up turnaround time and boost efficiency.
