Briarfields opens doors for National Care Home Open Day
A residential home in Shrewsbury is opening its doors to the public this month as part of the National Care Home Open Day scheme.
Briarfields in Raby Crescent, Belle Vue, which is run by Coverage Care Services, is inviting people to join residents for afternoon tea and a tour around the gardens on June 23 from 3.30pm to 5pm.
It will also be an opportunity for potential residents and their families to look around the home and facilities and talk to staff.
Home manager Denise Morris said: “We are delighted to be opening our doors and welcoming visitors to Briarfields.
“The aim of the day is for people to see what we do and meet and chat with staff and residents in an informal setting. We’ll be serving up afternoon tea with scones and strawberries and tea or Pimms if preferred!
“We very much view Briarfields as part of the community and we look forward to meeting people from our community or who are interested in moving in.”
National Care Home Open Day is run by a group of care providers and associations and has been organised so care providers can demonstrate the quality of care and service that exists in caring for older people. This is the fifth year since its conception.
Briarfields is one of 14 care homes in Shropshire owned and operated by Coverage Care Services Limited on a not for profit basis.
