Christmas event marks reopening of new look Craven Arms store
A new look for a leading agricultural retailer in Craven Arms will be unveiled to the public at a special Christmas open event next month.
Customers will be able to see the results of the three-month refurbishment of the Wynnstay Country Store in Shrewsbury Road at the festive function on December 12.
The store, which stocks a wide range of pet, equine, horticultural and clothing ranges, alongside specialist agricultural products and services including access to seed, feed, fertilisers, grain trading and livestock product, has been trading from portable buildings while the extensive programme of work was carried out.
The major overhaul has been a significant investment in the store that had been largely unchanged since it opened in 1996.
The open day, which will run from 9am to 5pm, will be marked with a 10 per cent discount across most products and refreshments for all as well as goodie bags for children and a Christmas prize draw.
Experts from the group’s retail, feed and arable divisions will be on site to share advice and suppliers will be on hand to discuss their product ranges.
Retail Director Andrew Evans said: “We are delighted with the results of the refurbishment which is now in its final stages. The new look store will be lighter, brighter and easier to navigate for customers.
“We have slightly increased the square footage of the store and, with a better layout, we will be able to offer even more products. We can’t wait to show off the results of all our hard work at the Christmas event and welcoming old and new customers through the door.
“It’ll be an ideal chance to do some of that all important Christmas shopping as well as browse the new products available and engage with our experts,” he added.
Wynnstay Group Plc, owner of the Wynnstay Country Store chain, began as a farmer-controlled co-operative in 1917 and is now listed on the Alternative Investment Market and has its headquarters in Llansantffraid, Shrewsbury and Oswestry.
