Marches companies scoop prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Two Marches companies are celebrating after scooping a prestigious 2015 Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

Queens Award logoTelford-based Thermserve and Prometheus Medical, of Leominster, join Jaguar Land Rover and Midcounties Co-op as winners of the annual award given to businesses and individuals across the UK in four categories – innovation, international trade, sustainable development and enterprise promotion.

Both Marches’ businesses won awards in the innovation category. Prometheus Medical was recognised for its work on the ‘Russell Chest Seal’ – a new design of dressing used in the treatment of chest wounds. And Thermserve, picking up a Queen’s Award for the second time, won for designing advanced temperature control facilities.

Chairman of the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership website, Graham Wynn OBE, said: “The award-winning companies are fantastic examples of pioneering enterprises using innovation to drive business growth. A Queen’s Award is the highest honour given to any UK company for its achievements and it’s great to have two businesses from our region in the group of winners. I’d like to congratulate Thermserve and Prometheus Medical on their success.”
