New development targets ‘last time’ buyers

A new development of high spec bungalows is set to address the lack of single storey living available in rural Lincolnshire.
Gallamore Gardens, on the outskirts of Market Rasen, features 72 contemporary, high-specification and energy-efficient bungalows by award winning developer E5 Living UK.
Made up of eight designs of two, three and four bedroom properties, Gallamore Gardens offers choice accommodation for not only families, but last time buyers looking to downsize to their forever home.
Recent research by the HomeOwners Alliance highlighted the lack of choice available to people looking to downsize or retire. Their survey revealed that 1.2 million homeowners aged 55 and over have put plans to move on hold in the past two years. And of those, 38% say they would prefer a bungalow for their next move.

Yet despite this popularity for bungalow living among the over 55s, NHBC data shows they made up 11% of new homes in 1990 – but just 1% in 2024.
E5 president Kevin Stevens said Gallamore Gardens would meet the growing demand for single-storey properties across the region.
“I’m really proud of the quality we are delivering at Gallamore Gardens, which will bring some much-needed choice to the regional housing market.
“There is a real dearth of contemporary bungalows, designed to meet the needs of modern living and create homes which add real value to their owners’ lives.
“Gallamore Gardens does just that with a choice of styles and designs which will appeal to a wide range of buyers from families to downsizers.”
E5 has worked with award-winning housebuilder Horgan Homes on the development, part of a wider development on Gallamore Lane which will include a convenient Aldi supermarket and Starbucks coffee shop nearby.
“It’s essential to us when we build new homes that they have the infrastructure in place to create a real community straight away,” said Kevin. “That is absolutely the case at Gallamore Gardens.”
E5 has officially appointed national agents Spicerhaart to market the development.
Kevin added: “The reach and expertise of Spicerhaart will be a huge asset in ensuring these high-quality homes find the right audience.”
The development includes both detached and semi-detached bungalows in an enviable setting on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The historic town of Market Rasen, with its impressive chapel and famous racecourse, is just a four-minute drive away.
Each of the new homes offers a high-quality finish and top specification. Features include open plan living with a light and airy feel; full length double glazed rear doors or bi-fold retractable rear doors; bespoke hand-crafted kitchens by Haden with remote control appliances, Samsung split and multi incorporated function ovens along with solid quartz worktops and Porcelanosa tiled splash-backs; Roca sanitaryware and Porcelanosa tiles in the bathrooms and turfed front gardens and block paved driveways.
The newly opened showhome at Gallamore Gardens showcases the exceptional quality incorporated into every single property, whose prices start from £295,000. The showhome is open Thursday through to Monday from 10am to 5pm.
