Newport Show adds new late entry ticket
The organisers of Newport Show have introduced a new late-entry ticket to allow more visitors to enjoy the line-up of live music at this year’s event.

Vintage vocal harmony group The Bluebird Belles
Three bands will perform in the main arena of the show at Chetwynd Deer Park on July 14 from 5pm to 7pm. The new late entry ticket will be available from 4pm and 5.30pm and costs £5 per adult and £3 for children aged five to 15. Under 5s have free entry.
Access will only be for pedestrians but visitors can utilise the park and stroll service when vehicles can be parked at the nearby Newport Rugby Club.
The bands are 1940s and vintage vocal harmony trio The Bluebird Belles, The Endings – a Shropshire based five piece folk rock band with a bluegrass twist, and the Pantasy Steel Band.
Show President Tony Asson said the late entry ticket was a new feature this year as the show expanded its musical offering.
“We introduced a live band to the main arena entertainment in 2017 and it got very positive feedback from show goers who enjoyed the extra dimension it added to the day. We decided to increase the number of bands and variety of music on offer and give it a later afternoon slot in the main arena to round off the show day.
“The late afternoon entry offer is something we hope will encourage more people to come and sample the show and then come back to us for the whole day in the future. The live bands will also be a great finale for our visitors who’ve been with us all day.”
Highlights of this year’s event include a guest appearance in the show’s Festival of Food from Great British Bake Off runner up Steven Carter-Bailey
Main ring entertainment at the Chetwynd Deer Park will include the popular Sheep Show, complete with dancing sheep, and another top headline act yet to be revealed.
There will also be more than 140 livestock, sheep and equine classes, an open dog show featuring Crufts qualifying classes, family entertainment, Education Hub, countryside retail village, vintage vehicle and machinery displays, trade stands, handicraft and horticulture competitions, and a fairground.
