Shearing champion joins Wynnstay’s team
A shearing champion has become the latest person to join the team of experts at agricultural supplier Wynnstay Group.

Hefin Rowlands
Hefin Rowlands, 26, has taken up the role of Animal Health Specialist. He will advise farmers across Mid Wales on a range of issues including animal health, worming, and vaccinations.
Hefin, who hails from Ruthin but now lives in Mid Wales, will specialise in the sheep, beef and dairy sectors.
He became the first Welshman in 23 years to take one of the top spots at the Golden Shears International Shearing and Woolhandling Championships in New Zealand when he was named Junior Champion last year.
“Sheering career”
2014 also saw him scoop the intermediate title at the Corwen Shears competition. His shearing career has seen him work across the UK and New Zealand.
Hefin, who grew up in a farming family, said: “I am delighted to have joined Wynnstay and I look forward to working with customers across Mid Wales.
“Although I have made my name in the shearing world, I have been brought up in the sheep and beef farming world, so I hope to be able to bring some of that knowledge to benefit Wynnstay customers.”
Iolo Jones, Wynnstay Sales Manager for North Wales, said: “We are very pleased to have been able to add Hefin to the Wynnstay team.
“His appointment will help us to improve the level of support and advice we provide to Mid Wales farmers so they can stay abreast of the latest developments in the agricultural industry.”
