Shortlist announced for 2016 Shropshire Care Awards
The shortlist for the 2016 Shropshire Care Awards that recognises the leading lights in the county’s caring profession has been revealed.
Care workers and providers who are providing an exceptional level of care and proactively working to improve care in the industry have been selected by a panel of judges as possible winners of the 10 categories.
Individual awards include employee of the year, promoting care as a positive career, learner of the year and Registered Manager award.
Organisational categories are the team award, health & wellbeing, healthy eating, supporting end of life care, supporting and engaging with the local community, and supporting out of hours discharge.
The awards programme is hosted by Shropshire Partners in Care (SPIC), a not for profit organisation that represents more than 200 independent nursing, residential and domiciliary care companies.
Nicky Jacques, Chief Officer of Shropshire Partners in SPIC said: “The Care Awards celebrate the many achievements that individual staff and care organisations in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin deliver on a daily basis.
“They offer providers who strive every day to deliver a service that they are proud of a chance to be recognised and show their commitment in ensuring their workforce is trained, competent and compassionate.
“There are some great examples of the fantastic work being done across the county within the nominations and the judges said it was very hard to decide on a shortlist as the standard of entries was so high.”
Each category will have a winner and two runners up, revealed at a ceremony at the Park Inn Hotel in Telford on April 15.
