Shropshire care provider welcomes new sector leader
The new Executive Director of the National Care Forum has paid a factfinding mission to Shropshire’s leading independent care home provider.

Vic Raynor with Ian Gordon and David Coull.
Vic Rayner, who took up her role earlier this summer, spent a day with Coverage Care Services, finding out more about its organisation and meeting board members, staff and residents.
Coverage Care currently runs 14 care homes on a not-for-profit basis in Telford, Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Wellington, Whitchurch, Bridgnorth, Bishops Castle, Newport and Market Drayton. It will be opening a new purpose built facility, Montgomery House, in Shrewsbury later this year.
Its Chief Executive David Coull is the current chairman of the National Care Forum and said the visit by the organisation’s new leader was an important one.
“The National Care Forum plays a vital role in the sector, representing and supporting not-for-profit care organisations such as ours,” he said.
“Vic has vast experience from her background as CEO of Sitra, a leading national membership body championing excellence in housing, health, care and support, so it was interesting to hear her thoughts on the challenges facing the care and not-for-profit sectors.
“From our perspective, we were keen to receive her thoughts and perceptions as a fresh pair of eyes on the eve of our annual board conference.”
